Rohtang Pass



Rohtang Pass
 














Rohtang pass is 51kms. from Banon Resort, Manali on highway to Keylong/Leh. It offers a panorama and spectacular mountain view. The pass is open from June to October each year although trekkers can cross it earlier. It is a gateway to Lahaul Spiti, Pangi and Leh valley just as Zojila pass is a gatway to Ladakh. There are a beautiful sight of glaciers, peaks and Chandra river flows down in the Lahaul valley. Slightly to the left are the twin peaks of the Geypan. During summer(mid June to October) regular buses ply between Manali-Keylong/Darcha, Udaipur, Spiti and Leh.


Marhi

Rahala Water Fall

 
RAHALA WATER FALLS: 16 kms. on way to Rohtang pass. If one goes to Marhi on foot from Kothi from the old road, the sight of the falls is fascinating. It is a good picnic spot as well.







manikaran

Manikaran: This lies in the Parvati Valley of Kullu District. It is around 70 Kms from Manali via Kullu town. It is famous for its Shiva Temple and Gurudwara and also for its hot water springs.









Solang Nullah
 
Solang Nullah: 14 km north-west of Manali in the Solang Valley, this place offers Himachal Pradesh's best ski slopes. A 300 m ski lift is operated by the Mountaineering and Allied Sports Institute. February is best month to ski. HPTDC runs seven day package for ski courses with accommodation in the Hotel Rohtang Manaslu in Manali. Courses are also offered by Mountaineering and Allied Sports Institute and the North Face Ski School. For accommodation, hotel and guest houses are available.





Kothi

Kothi: It is a pretty little village, 12 km from Manali on the Keylong road. There are very fine views from Kothi, and the Beas river flows through a very deep and narrow gorge at this point. The well situated Public Works Department (PWD) Resthouse is a popular place for overnight stays.





 

Rahalla Falls


Rahalla Falls: About 16 km from Manali at the start of the climb to the Rohtang Pass, are beautiful Rahalla Falls at an altitude of 2,501 m.







Gulaba Camp


Gulaba Camp : 20 Km from Manali, is this beautiful place famous for sightseeing, picnic and photography.







Rani Nala



Rani Nala : 46 Km from Manali. It is the glacier point where snow is available throughout the year.





 

Beas Kund


Beas Kund: It is the source of river Beas, at the Rohtang pass and is easily accessible. The great sage, Vyas performed `Tapa' here during the Mahabharat times. The place is still hallowed by the celestial light. it was because of this that the river got the present name of Beas.







Manali Hotels or Manali hotels and resorts -Banon Resorts- Is the most conveniently located resort in Manali. All local sight-seeing spots are within walking distance - Beas river is a short walk through the reserved forest towards the east, Hadimba Temkple to the west, old Manali village and club house to the north and the makk and Tibetan monasteries to the south.
